Pick Up / Drop Off Procedures

Please use the designated parent drop-off area at each school, or park in the visitor parking spaces and walk your child safely into the school. Do not park or drop off your child in the bus lane or double park. This is extremely dangerous!!

Students may be dropped off at school beginning at 7:15 a.m. Once school begins at 7:30 a.m., parents are asked not to go to the classrooms as instruction has already begun for the day.  Any items dropped off during the day will be delivered to your child.

Your child's safety is of great concern to us.  For that reason, a safe drop-off zone has been established. When dropping off or picking up your child at Ball Elementary, please use the East parking lot (behind the building, near the playground).  Please be alert to all signage and traffic guides.

Parents dropping off or picking up their children at school can use the drive-up lane and should remain in their car.  Please pull your vehicle as far forward in the lane as possible.  Students may be dropped off from 7:15 to 7:30 a.m.  The rear door to the building will be closed promptly at 7:30 a.m.  Students will be sent to the same location for pick up at 2:20 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and at 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday. They will be sent to the same location at 10:45 a.m. on School Improvement Days.  Supervision will be provided to safely guide the students with their process.

If you park your car in the lot, please walk with your child across the drop-off lane.  Students should never walk across the parking lot and drop off lanes without parental supervision.

Please hang up your cell phone!

Illinois law prohibits drivers from talking on cell phones in school zones.  This prohibition is meant to protect drivers and keep our students safe.
