For nearly two centuries, students have been educated within the boundaries of the Ball-Chatham School District, first in one room schoolhouses, to now over 963,000 square feet that comprise our six schools. We are one of the largest employers in Sangamon County, as well. We provide public education to 4,850 students, with more than 600 teachers and staff at work in our schools.

The Ball-Chatham School District has immediate openings for:
Substitute teachers – Applicants need to contact the Illinois Regional Office of Education at 217-753-6620 for position requirements, and from them obtain a Substitute Authorization Form. Substitute special needs aides – Those interested must complete an application online at https://www.applitrack.com/BCSD/onlineapp/jobpostings/view.asp?internaltransferform.Url=. Applicants need a paraprofessional license, must be at least 19 years of age, and pass a criminal background check. The rate of pay is $12 per hour.
School bus drivers - Ball-Chatham bus drivers receive free training, retirement benefits, and additional earning opportunities by signing up for field trips or extracurricular event trips. The rate of pay is $18 per hour.
