Message from BCSD Elementary Principals

Dear BCSD Elementary Families,

We are so excited that the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL is finally here! We look forward to seeing all of our students across the screen or across the room on Monday. We three elementary principals are penning this communication together because we want to ensure that ALL of our district students know they are loved and cared for by ALL schools. We are one district, one Titan community.

There are so many facets to planning for a dual delivery model: helping teachers learn new technology for remote and virtual teaching, implementing ever-changing safety guidelines for in-person learners and staff, assigning staff and students to both models. We have been busy! We want to apologize for any confusion, misinformation, and missed communication. It hurts our hearts to know that even one child was disappointed during Meet the Teacher opportunities. While we have never done this before, we know we can always improve. We will work to do better.

Each school’s support staff is missing our students who may be getting virtual instruction from a teacher in another building. We love our elementary staff friends, and we know they love you, too. But we want to stay connected, too. Be looking for special messages next week and the coming weeks from familiar friends who miss you!

So much of our delivery during this hybrid/virtual period relies on technology working well. We know there will be hiccups; the attached information sheet explains what to do when challenges arise. Grace will be necessary on both ends as we all navigate these unchartered waters. Please do not hesitate to reach out to any principal regarding questions, concerns, and suggestions. We grow better with your feedback.

Despite the potential problems that may arise, we are very thankful to start another year of learning with ALL of our elementary students. Together we are strong. Together we can find success. Together we are Titans.
