When Family Members are Ill, Please Remember...
The Ball-Chatham School District would like to remind everyone that the Illinois Department of Public Health recommends that students stay home if a household member is exhibiting one or more Covid-19 symptoms OR if someone in the household is awaiting Covid-19 test results.
To keep our schools and community safe please adhere to the following guidelines:
The household member that has a symptom(s) should get COVID-19 tested immediately, and other household members should stay home until the test results are back.
If the test result is negative, a student may return to school once the school nurse has released him/her back into the building.
If the test result is positive please do the following:
Contact your school nurse for further instructions.
The positive individual should isolate immediately from other family members for 10 days from the onset of symptoms, or if asymptomatic then from the test date. The positive person should report all close contacts to the Sangamon County Health Department.
All close contacts (household or non-household) will need to quarantine for a full 14 days from their last contact with the positive case. A close contact may decide to get a Covid test but no matter the result they cannot test out of quarantine.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe!
