  • Welcome Lisa Nobles, Director of Human Resources

Lisa Nobles was named Director of Human Resources at the Ball-Chatham Board of Education’s meeting on September 28, 2022 and officially began her duties on November 7. Lisa had previously served as Director of Human Resources for the State of Illinois Executive Ethics Commission. Prior to this, she worked for the Rapid City Area School District in Rapid City, South Dakota. Lisa graduated high school in 2001 from Woodland R-IV High School, Marble Hill, Missouri and was named Valedictorian of her class. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005 from Southeast Missouri State University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mass Communication, Advertising emphasis, and a minor in art. She went on to earn her MBA (Human Resources Management) from William Woods University in 2013. She also holds her Senior Professional certification in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP). About her profession, she says, “Human Resources is the perfect blend of data, compliance, and people. I am a total data nerd and Microsoft Excel is my best work friend. Metrics drive decision-making and work like the muscles that support compliance, the bones of HR. I am a rule-follower by trade and work very hard to ensure clarity and consistency. Of course, at the heart is people. Every decision I make, every rule I support, and every policy I enforce will in some way have an effect on someone’s life. You can’t do this job if you don’t empathize with the people you impact on a daily basis.” Lisa says she believes the challenges in her profession are also what she loves about it - the people. “Every situation is different, so applying the same set of rules to a moving target is very challenging,” she says. “Specifically in education, you have the second layer of ensuring that what you are doing is not just best for the employee, but also for the students and the organization.” She is married to Alan, and they have two sons, Avery (9) and Arnett (7) who are both students at Chatham Elementary. On her own time, she enjoys reading, cooking, swimming, knitting, and whatever her kids are interested in on any given day!
