GMS students from Ms. Armstrong’s and Ms. Stanfield’s classes participated in valuable hands-on vocational training through Old Navy’s This Way ONward program.

Last weekend with outstanding community support, the GMS 8th Grade volleyball team defeated Mahomet-Seymour, Edwardsville Liberty and Morton to win the IESA Class 4A State Championship!

Students at GMS donated money for Special Olympics before watching a select few of their teachers have a bucket of ice water dumped over their head.

GMS students and staff partnered with Special Olympics Illinois as well as the Chatham Fire and Police departments pledging to be respectful.

Due to extreme cold temperatures and drifting snow, all Ball-Chatham Community Schools will be closed for in-person learning on Monday, January 26, 2026 with an eLearning Day in place. Students are expected to follow eLearning protocols.

Ball-Chatham School District is monitoring weather in the coming days that could produce dangerously cold morning wind chill temperatures. We are most concerned that the wind chill temperature on Friday, January 23, 2026 and Monday, January 26, 2026 may trigger an eLearning event.

We are encouraging all families to start making any necessary plans in the event we cancel in-person learning.

A final decision about eLearning will be made either the night before or the morning of by 5:30 AM at the latest.

GMS held its annual Winter Assembly with outstanding performances and thrilling Teacher vs. Student games.

The GMS 8th Grade girls basketball team will play Kingsley at 5:45 PM on Tuesday, December 16 in the IESA Class 4A State Tournament at Parkside Junior High in Normal.

The GMS Jazz Band spent the morning last Friday at Reflections Memory Care playing for residents.

Due to weather conditions, all activities and events hosted by Ball-Chatham School District have been canceled for the remainder of today (Saturday, December 13, 2025).

The GMS 8th Grade girls basketball team defeated Springfield Grant 28-26 in the IESA Class 4A Regional final last Friday.

The Titans advance to the IESA Class 4A Sectional title game hosted by GMS on Wednesday at 6 PM.

Mrs. Luttrell recently hosted a book tasting of 24 novels for her 8th grade students in the GMS LRC that included reading and rating the selected books.

𝐆𝐌𝐒 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐧

GMS hosted over 50 veterans & active duty military members on Monday for its annual Veterans Day Luncheon.

Guests represented the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, & National Guard with a combined total of over 645 years of service!
