The Ball-Chatham Board of Education met for its regularly scheduled meeting at the District Office in Chatham, IL on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023.

4. COMMUNICATIONS
The Board recognized several teams and individuals including:
-Nick Brockamp announced the two honorees from the Solo Competition at this year's Millikin University Vocal Festival Senior Sofia Flick, who received 2nd Place, and Junior Rachel Wakelin, who was named a semi-finalist as one of the top 12 singers in the competition.
-GHS Students Wesley Bentley and Zubair Saeed were present to accept the recognition for winning 1st place in the 20th Annual Technology Day - Invention and Innovation category.
-Coach Mike Garber recognized the GHS Girls Cross Country Team for winning the IHSA 2A Girls Cross Country State Championship.
-Caitlyn Moody, Athletic Director, announced that Mike Garber has been named the 2023 Coach of the Year for Class 2A Girls Cross Country. Moody also recognized Jay Lipe, who could not be present. He has been selected as a representative for the Small School Coach of the Year by the coaches of the United Soccer Coaches Association in our Region.

-Dr. Becca Lamon, provided the board with a presentation on an overview of the 2023 School Grades and Equity Continuum scores. You can view the presentation here: School Grades and Equity Continuum
Recognition: 4.6 School Board Recognition
-Dr. Lamon shared that it was Board Member Day on November 15th. She recognized all the board members for their time and dedication to the district. Ms. Tammy Hermes passed out thank you cards from the buildings' administration.
